eTaskMaker Module Updates for June

InterPlan Systems has released the following updated and new eTaskMaker estimating modules:

  • Drum Corrosion Remediation(new) Allows for remediating corrosion problem that usually occur on a drum or tank wall as a result of condensation accumulation under insulation.
  • Heat Exchangers – U-Tubes (Rev. 24)(updated) Now includes an option to bake out the tube bundle at an outside shop after cleaning it. It also allows to specify if the cleaning method is tube by tube or if several tubes can be cleaned simultaneously.
  • Piping Corrosion Remediation(new) Allows for removing insulation, inspecting, sandblasting or wirewheel cleaning corrosion areas on piping, applying a protective coating and re-insulating.

eTaskMaker Module Updates for May

InterPlan Systems has released the following updated and new eTaskMaker estimating modules:

  • Flow Transmitters – Field Service(new) For field servicing flow transmitters.
  • Motor Operated Valeves (M.O.V.s) (Rev. 9)(updated) Several small improvements and now allows for servicing the actuator, the valve or both.
  • Tank Demolition(new) For demolishing a large storage tank, either with conventional methods or with hydraulic crane-mounted clippers.
  • Tanks (Rev. 12)(updated) Improved task duration formulas to account for hazardous workplace conditions.

eTaskMaker Power User’s Workshop

Register now to learn how to use eTaskMaker more effectively. On April 26, InterPlan Systems will host a workshop showing you how to get the most benefit out of the eTaskMaker Wizard and Module Editor.

Topics to be covered for the eTaskMaker Wizard Power User:

  • Adjusting estimates (durations, resource assignments) before exporting to ATC Pro, Primavera, MS-Project, SAP, etc.
  • Reviewing/analyzing estimated manhours by resource
  • Strategic use of Craft/Resource mappings when exporting
  • Multiple exports to the same or different target platforms

Topics to be covered for the eTaskMaker Module Editor Power User:

  • Customizing “generic” modules for specific equipment with optimum efficiency the easy and fast way using the latest Editor enhancements
  • Editing / adding / deleting tasks
  • Tweaking duration and resource estimating formulas
  • Using resource productivity factors

The latest versions of the eTaskMaker Wizard and the Module Editor will be employed to show easy and fast ways to achieve higher productivity and more accurate estimates.

Attendees will receive the latest User Manuals, and a copy of Dick Ertl’s STO Planning Handbook, plus a CD with the latest eTaskMaker enhancements and the latest modules organized in folders by work category (i.e. drums, towers, reactors, piping, electrical, instruments, rotating equipment, valves, miscellaneous, etc.).

Dick Ertl will conduct the workshop on April 26th., 2012, at the Holiday Inn Express in Webster.

PMI Houston Energy Corridor Event: Planning & Scheduling STOs

Dick Ertl, President of InterPlan Systems, will conduct a presentation at the PMI Houston Process Industry Focus Group on Monday, April 16 from 5pm-7pm. The meeting takes place at the Mustang Engineering OPUS building, 17420 Katy Freeway (I-10W), Houston. Participants are encouraged to register for the event for free admittance.

The presentation will focus on issues related to planning and scheduling shutdowns, turnarounds and outages.

eTaskMaker Software Updates

InterPlan Systems has released updates for the eTaskMaker Wizard and Module Editor. These updates include a couple of major enhancements including the ability to “hard code” default answers into a module (enabling an elegant solution for customizing generic modules to specific equipment) and the addition of productivity factors at the resource level. The updates include a file with notes providing a complete list and description of the enhancements.

eTaskMaker clients may now download the update from our downloads repository. Clients with an Enterprise license should contact InterPlan Systems for customized updates.

The eTaskMaker demo has also been updated with the latest version of the Wizard.

  • Block Valves – Bolted (Rev. 22)(updated) Fixed small error in the flow chart logic.
  • Block Valves – Welded (Rev. 19)(updated) Fixed small error in the flow chart logic.
  • Heat Exchangers – U-Tubes (Rev. 23)(updated) Now provides option for WFMP (Wet Fluoroscopic Magnetic Particle) testing of tubes after cleaning.
  • Hot Taps (Rev. 5)(updated) Revision now incorporates the utilization of a crane plus operator to assist with the installation of a flange on the piping to be hot tapped. Also, different metallurgies are being considered, and the provision for a welding shelter / wind break.
  • Nozzle Replacement on Drum (Rev. 6)(updated) Now considers different metallurgies in addition to carbon steel.
  • Pipe Clamps Removal and Repair Piping (Rev. 4)(updated) Improved logic flow of the work process.
  • Tower Tray Work (Rev. 6)(updated) Improved estimating formulas.

This update includes a couple of enhancements including a new “schedule fragnet” display window allowing the planner to see the expected scheduled (working time) duration for estimates as they are built. The updates include a file with notes providing a complete list of the enhancements.

  • Blind Installation (Rev. 10)(updated) Major revision includes overhaul of scheduling logic, plus the ability to specify multiple blinding locations at a particular job site (such as a tower, vessel, etc.)
  • Drums (Rev. 17)(updated) Improved estimating formulas for heat stress adjustments.
  • Heat Exchangers – Double Pipe (Rev. 9)(updated) Now provides option for installing blinds with SCBA.
  • Heat Exchangers – Floating Head (Rev. 15)(updated) Now provides option for installing blinds with SCBA.
  • Heat Exchangers – U-Tubes (Rev. 21)(updated) Now provides option for installing blinds with SCBA and improved scheduling logic.
  • Motor Operated Valves (M.O.V.s) (Rev. 8)(updated) Now allows for the preparation of estimates / plans for the removal and servicing the actuator and the entire valve. Three types of valves are included: butterfly, globe or block. Actuators can be hydraulic, pneumatic or electric.
  • Pipe – Field Erection (Rev. 14)(updated) Improved estimating formulas and scheduling logic.
  • Pipe – Shop Fabrication (Rev. 7)(updated) Improved estimating formulas and scheduling logic.
  • Tanks (Rev. 11)(updated) Now provides option for installing blinds with SCBA.
